Alzheimer's Awareness Month is in November. I wrote this paper about 18 months ago. I created this video in October 2019 to go live in November. This is my Nana, Berniece. She had Alzheimer's. In my research on Alzheimer's I came across multiple articles showing how traumatic events could lead to dementia (an umbrella term which Alzheimer's falls under, along with other forms like vascular dementia). Nana had a plethora of things happen to her, so I began talking to my mom, and other family members to figure out Nana's life prior to her diagnosis. Pregnancy Caused My Hives... but how?
In 2018, I found out that I was pregnant in a pretty unorthodox way. I broke out into hives and an allergist ordered a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy for the aggressive treatment plan he was working on for me. However, the test came back positive even though just a couple of days before an at-home pregnancy test said negative.
