Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Review

So, I couldn't make it the whole two weeks to do this review. I made it a good ten days (yay me!)  I already made a video showing how I used the products, which is below. Again, this blog AND the video are not sponsored in any way. This was done on my own free will.

This is a pinned comment on my video: I would like to add this: By the way, I'm not a doctor, I am a Pharmacy Technician though and these statements are just my opinion. I am in no way trying to throw medical advice on the internet.
I watched a few reviews of this product (after I posted this) and I noticed two things:

*One, some people using this use a ton of the Intense Exfoliant on their face...this (in my opinion) is not necessary... a little will go a long way.

Two, some experienced chemicals burns. NOW, these products do contain chemicals in them, and everyone's body is different. Some people have more sensitive skin, others may experience a burning feeling with certain chemicals.

I state in the video that I felt a little tingling, some tingling is probably normal since there are so many different things in the product...However, if it feels like it is starting to tingle too much or feel like it's burning, TAKE. IT. OFF! Don't risk burning your skin for beauty. The first time I used this, I left the exfoliant on for two minutes, like it said, and I felt tingling, and after the two minutes were up, my face was pretty red. I took that as a sign that I could have some sort of chemical burn if I did that every time. This is also another reason I had to quit using ProActiv. Just washing my face with the cleanser was too harsh on my skin and my face would be red after every use. So I moved on to Clean & Clear.

So only do it for a minute, or less if you have to when using the exfoliant. -Whitney

I didn't actually get into what I liked and didn't like about the products in the video. There weren't many dislikes about this line. I will say this: it is quite pricey. However, you don't need a ton of product for it to do the job which is the flip side to the price. Also, if you have sensitive skin, the exfoliator might be too much for your skin. My husband, for example, has extremely sensitive skin and I'm fairly certain it would burn his skin. When applying the exfoliator, you massage it into your skin in circular motions for thirty seconds and leave it on for 1-2 minutes. It will feel a little tingly. My skin is a little sensitive so after about 45 seconds, it feels like my skin is starting to burn so I can't keep it on very long. The exfoliator is something you will only need to use once or twice a week. I just used it every four days and called it good.

The cleanser is very gentle and does a very good job cleaning my face. Naturally, my face is extremely oily, so finding a gentle cleanser that actually cleans my skin is a little hard to find that doesn't have tiny exfoliators. The cleanser was my favorite part. I used this in the morning before work and I used it before I went to sleep. I noticed in about 4 days...5 days... my skin started to look a lot brighter and happier. I used ProActiv, my skin would feel great at the beginning, but then a few months in, it wouldn't work as great which sounds weird...but that's how it was. After ProActiv would wear off, I would go to Clean & Clear's Daily Pore Cleanser.

The last thing in the line that I used, of course, was the moisturizer. I really like this moisturizer. It wasn't greasy at all and kept my skin nice and hydrated all day. There wasn't any build up or anything to make my face feel gross (and as I mentioned before, I have oily skin!) which is pretty much impossible for me to find! The dry climate I live in may have contributed to that as well, so if you live in an area that is more humid than dry, then the results may vary.

All in all, I like the product line and will keep using this!
